Dr. Daniel Zidel received both his undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from The Ohio State University. He served as an officer in the United States Navy Dental Corps. After his discharge from the Navy, he opened his family practice on South Hamilton Road. The growth of the practice prompted relocation to our beautiful current location.
Dr. Zidel is on the staff of the Ohio State University Hospitals East and he is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Columbus Dental Society, O.S.U. Dental Alumni, and Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. He is active in many civic, athletic and vocational organizations, often volunteering his services.
Dr. Eric Zidel
Dr. Eric Zidel graduated from The Ohio State University for both his undergraduate Bachelor's degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. "Dr. Eric's" professional goals include restorative and cosmetic dentistry, preventive procedures, and preservation of oral and dental structures for a lifetime. Dr. Zidel looks forward to treating his patients in the time to come.
Dr. Zidel's outside interests include community service with organizations as The Starlight Foundation (he was nominated for the "Bachelor Auction" fundraiser one year!), and volunteering at the Schoenthal Cancer Ray sales when they were held each spring. He is an avid golfer, skier, biker, runner, and sports fan (he bleeds scarlet and gray for the OSU Buckeyes), and has retained every friend he ever made--all the way back to preschool! He says that finally practicing with his Dad is awesome and "surreal"--and he is elated about it
Dr. Patty Guttman
Dr. Patricia Guttman ("Dr. Patty") received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. Dr. Guttman also holds a Master's degree in Anatomy from Wright State University and a B.A. in Biology from Wittenberg University.
At the OSU College of Dentistry, Dr. Guttman was awarded the Senior Student Award which is presented to the student showing the greatest interest, knowledge and proficiency in general dentistry as selected by dental school faculty. She also was awarded the Willmarth and Marion Paine Dental Scholarship, and was an honorable mention for the Basch Memorial Scholarship for outstanding competency in communication and patient management skills. Dr. Guttman presented her dental research at the American Association of Dental Research. She continues to use these skills in her general dentistry practice today.
In 2015, Dr. Guttman was appointed by the Governor of Ohio to serve on the State Dental Board as one of nine dentists charged with licensing and regulating the dental profession in Ohio. Dr. Guttman gives back to the central Ohio community as a TWIG member - a group of women who support Nationwide Children's Hospital to support patient care, education and research. In her personal time, Dr. Guttman is a youth "hockey and figure skating mom", and enjoys thoroughbred horse racing and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Dr. Thomas Spoonster
Dr. Spoonster graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science degree, before attending The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where he received his Doctorate in Dentistry in 2013. Upon graduation Dr. Spoonster attended a one-year general practice residency at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Spoonster has continued to practice throughout the greater Columbus area since completing his residency. Dr. Spoonster's professional goals include first and foremost providing his patients with the utmost in modern dental care as well as a relaxing non-stressful atmosphere that alleviates patients fear of dentistry.
In Dr. Spoonster's free time he enjoys many outdoor adventures including skiing, snowboarding, acroyoga and going to concerts. He is an avid Buckeye football fan and being born and raised in Sharon Township he is also a fan of all Cleveland sports. Dr. Spoonster is excited to become a part of the Zidel Dental Group and establish a long term relationship with his patients.
